Lands and Surveys Department Sabah
Sabah Lands and Surveys Department was established in the 19th century to address the land administration needs of the state. In the beginning, it was headed by the Commissioner of Land and Surveyor General and currently, it is headed by the Director of Lands and Surveys.

The department oversees matter related to land alienation, cadastral survey, mapping, valuation, land development, communal titles for the local community, strata titles for building, corporate spatial data infrastructure development and other land related activities.

The modernisation of the department has been championed by the management through the deployment of advanced technologies and re-engineered work processes. The department has been pioneer and being the first in the region, to invest in many modern technologies such as Softcopy Photogrammetric (1994), Intergraph Web Mapping (1996), RFID for titles (2006) and many others.
